Company Overview
JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. (JK Tyre) serves as the flagship mobility enterprise of the J.K. Organisation. Renowned as the pioneer of radial tyre technology in India, the Company has evolved into a global tyre manufacturer catering to automotive markets across passenger, commercial, farm, off-highway, and two- and three-wheeler vehicle classes. The enterprise combines industrial-scale manufacturing with deep product engineering, smart mobility research, retreading infrastructure, and specialized fleet management operations.
With an operating history spanning more than 50 years in tyre production, JK Tyre currently ranks 19th among global tyre manufacturers. Its operational network delivers finished products to domestic automotive hubs and exports to over 100 countries. During the financial year 2025-26, the Company transitioned from an investment-heavy capacity expansion phase into an operational optimisation phase, sweating newly commissioned assets, expanding higher-margin product categories, and deploying digital controls across manufacturing plants.
- ₹16,384.28 crore consolidated total income achieved in FY 2025-26 compared to ₹14,772.20 crore in FY 2024-25.
- 11 production facilities operating across strategic industrial corridors in India (9 plants) and Mexico (2 plants).
- 90%+ operational capacity utilisation maintained across primary radial tyre product lines.
- Over 1.3 million lives positively impacted via dedicated social and Saarthi community programmes.
The enterprise functions across a dual-market architecture, supplying major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) while maintaining a replacement distribution footprint. It serves more than 65 OEM client relationships globally, encompassing commercial truck builders, passenger car manufacturers, tractor makers, and electric vehicle developers. Concurrently, its distribution network encompasses over 6,000 dealers across India, backed by dedicated branded retail formats including Steel Wheels, Truck Wheels, and Retread Centres.
A transformative structural milestone concluded during FY 2025-26 was the statutory amalgamation of Cavendish Industries Limited (CIL), which operates the Laksar Tyre Plant in Uttarakhand. Acquired out of distressed operating conditions in 2016 when operating at approximately 30% capacity utilisation, Cavendish was turned around under JK Tyre’s management to achieve 95% utilisation before being formally merged with effect from the Appointed Date of 1st April 2025. The completed merger consolidates manufacturing capacities across truck/bus radials, bias tyres, and two- and three-wheeler lines under a unified balance sheet and administrative structure.

India Segment Profile
The India operating segment forms the foundation of JK Tyre’s revenue engine and manufacturing capabilities. It encompasses nine manufacturing plants situated across five primary geographic locations: Jaykaygram (Rajasthan), Banmore (Madhya Pradesh), Mysuru (three plant sites in Karnataka), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), and the newly amalgamated Laksar facility (Uttarakhand). The segment oversees comprehensive tyre production ranging from high-mileage commercial vehicle radials to consumer passenger tyres, farm solutions, and specialized off-highway tyres.
In FY 2025-26, the domestic segment generated external operating revenue of ₹14,189.75 crore and delivered an operating profit (PBIT before exceptional items) of ₹1,541.56 crore, expanding from ₹1,128.22 crore in FY 2024-25. The domestic operations experienced strengthening vehicle demand across commercial fleet operators, original equipment fitments, and rural farming communities following the reduction in GST rates on commercial vehicles, tractors, and tyres from 28% to 18% under GST 2.0 reforms.
Mexico Segment Profile
The Mexico operating segment is executed through subsidiary Compañía Hulera Tornel, S.A. de C.V. (JK Tornel) and its operating arms. Operating two manufacturing facilities in Mexico, the business provides strategic geographic access to North America, Central America, and Latin American replacement and OEM channels. The segment manufactures passenger car radials, light truck tyres, farm tyres, and specialty tyres adapted to American market dynamics.
Despite macroeconomic pressures and cross-border trade friction, Mexico recorded external operating revenue of ₹2,136.90 crore in FY 2025-26. PBIT before exceptional items reached ₹75.61 crore. The operation focused on margin defence rather than baseline volume expansion, executing a 5% to 6% price increase across truck/bus radial (TBR) product lines and adding 40 new distributors. Additionally, the operation commenced commercial original equipment tyre supplies to Kia Mexico.
Others Segment Profile
The ‘Others’ segment comprises international corporate entities and holding vehicles, including trading operations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. These entities facilitate overseas direct sales, export credit coordination, and raw material procurement networks. Total sales generated stood at ₹2.47 crore, which was entirely eliminated as inter-segment transactions, resulting in a net segmental PBIT loss of ₹0.37 crore.
History and Evolution
JK Tyre traces its corporate foundation to its incorporation in 1951 under the J.K. Organisation umbrella. Over seven decades, the business transformed from an industrial enterprise into a technology-driven manufacturing powerhouse. The pivotal turning point occurred when JK Tyre pioneered radial tyre technology in India, establishing domestic manufacturing capabilities when the national automotive fleet relied almost exclusively on bias-ply tyres.
In 2016, the Company executed a major strategic acquisition by taking over Cavendish Industries Limited from Kesoram Industries Ltd. The transaction brought the Laksar tyre plant in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, into the Company’s operational fold, granting immediate entry into two- and three-wheeler tyre lines while augmenting truck/bus radial and bias capacity. Under JK Tyre’s management, the plant underwent structured capital injection, technical balancing, and shopfloor upskilling, reversing an operational slump of 30% capacity utilisation to over 95% utilisation. The legal amalgamation of CIL into JK Tyre officially became effective on 22nd December 2025.
- 1951: Official incorporation of the corporate entity.
- Pioneer of Radial Technology: First company to introduce truck and bus radial tyres commercially in India.
- 2016: Strategic acquisition of Cavendish Industries Limited (Laksar Tyre Plant).
- 2023: preferential allotment of 24,000 Compulsorily Convertible Debentures (CCDs) raising ₹240 crore from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
- December 2023: Raised ₹500 crore via Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) of 1,44,92,749 shares at ₹345 per share.
- November 2025: National launch of India’s first embedded ‘SMART’ passenger car tyre range with TPMS technology.
- December 2025: Sanction of the Cavendish Industries Ltd. merger scheme by NCLT Jaipur Bench.
In recent years, the Company transitioned into digital and sustainable mobility systems. Through the progressive acquisition of Treel Mobility Solutions Private Limited—increasing its equity stake from 26% to 66% in February 2025—JK Tyre internalized advanced sensor technologies, cloud-linked tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), and predictive fleet telematics. Simultaneously, the Company advanced sustainable chemistry, launching passenger car tyres built with up to 80% recycled and renewable materials.
